"Irish prove to be cream of the crop on climate change."

”…Augustenborg's project is a Green DIY campaign aiming to encourage Irish homeowners to lower their carbon footprint by undertaking simple DIY projects in their homes.

Augustenborg was judged by an international panel of business and sustainability experts to win a place on the scheme during a selection event in Rotterdam. Students from France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, UK, Denmark, and Sweden competed in a series of challenges, including outdoor physical logic tests, media interviews, writing, and presentation tasks.

“While most of us are aware of a few ways by which we can improve our household environmental efficiency or carbon footprint, we feel quite isolated in our efforts and unsure of all the options that are feasible for Ireland's unique circumstances, ” Augustenborg said. “The campaign will encourage individuals to be part of a community and take control of climate change by doing large and small remodeling projects in their homes to achieve significant reductions of greenhouse gas emissions.” Her campaign will be officially launched this summer.”
